Benefits of Aloe_Vera

While not all the health benefits of aloe_Vera have been proved, there is a lot of decent scientific evidence to support its use as a laxative. This is due to the presence of the cathartic anthroquinone in the aloe latex. A few other medical disorders where aloe Vera has credible medical benefits include the treatment of genital herpes, psoriasis, seborrhea, and dermatitis. However, all consumers show fully understand that aloe Vera is not a substitute for conventional medical therapy in the above disorders but a complimentary therapy .there are many other disorders where the role of aloe Vera is dubious at best. Advocates or vendors of aloe Vera claim that this plant can reduce risk of lung cancers are false. There is at present no clinical evidence that aloe Vera consumption can prevent any type of cancer. Some other medical disorders where medical evidence for aloe is flimsy is diabetes, and HIV infection, anecdotal reports do claim that aloe Vera lowers blood sugars but this is not a universal finding. For HIV, aloe Vera has today shown no benefit and neither does it prevent complications of this deadly virus. While aloe Vera has widely been used to treat a variety of skin ailments, like burns skin ulcer and dermatitis, in fact there is little evidence to show that is does much to the skin other than to act as moisturizer. The biggest problem is that many commercial products of aloe Vera have started to add synthetic chemicals in the formulation and this has made some skin conditions worse. The only skin disorder that can be reliably treated with aloe Vera is dermatitis (Dry skin which is itchy) however the formulations on sale also dry up quickly and the protection is not long lasting. Areas where there is no evidence of health benefit of aloe Vera are pressure ulcers, radiation induced skin damage and mouth ulcers. Aloe Vera is available in many formulations and the gel is the best formula for skin, it has to be applied 3-4 times a day and is relatively free of side effects The dose for constipation is about 10-20 mg taken orally. There are also liquid aloe Vera extracts which can be used to relieve constipation.

Aloe Vera should never be injected as several deaths have been reported. The cause of death was remains undiagnosed. For the treatment of herpetic sores, the aloe Vera gel must be applied for five consecutive days at least 4-5 times daily. Often it takes week of application before the pain relief is seen. Individuals who have allergies to garlic onions, tulips and other plants of the liliaceae family should keep away from aloe Vera because of cross reactivity. While some people do apply aloe Vera to broken or surgically open ski, this is not recommended as there can be severe pain, burning and a permanent change in skin color. Although topical aloe Vera is safe, pregnant women or those who are breast feeding should be warned that oral aloe Vera has not been thoroughly studied in this population and may harm the fetus or the infant
